Physical Therapy Unit

About Physiotherapy

In our physical therapy unit, posture check-ups are conducted, and pain treatment and rehabilitation are applied by our trained and certified physiotherapists through personalized protocols.

Scoliosis physical therapy and training are provided by expert physiotherapists trained at the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS) and the Germany-based International 3-D Scoliosis Therapy School (ISST).

Patients are educated on exercises and lifestyle adjustments according to their specific curvature types. Their awareness of their own body shapes is increased, and coping methods are taught.

To ensure continuity of treatment and that the teachings become a way of life, home exercises are given, and the accuracy of the practice is periodically evaluated.

The principles of 3D physical therapy are incorporated into daily life to become habitual, aiming for the continuity of the improvements achieved.

The effectiveness of the brace is increased by teaching patients to actively apply exercise principles during brace use.

Intensive exercise camps lasting 7-10 days are organized during school holidays to allow a wider audience to learn the exercises.

Patients' changes before and after exercises are evaluated in the Diers 4D motion lab without taking films, and therefore without exposure to radiation.

Our unit is also an educational center teaching the principles of the BSPTS school to specialist physiotherapists through the courses it offers.

Pain Treatment and Lower Back School

  • - The physiotherapy rehabilitation program is determined and applied in light of physical and functional performance/capacity, daily living activities, pain, sensation, use of assistive devices, and evaluation methods.
  • - The primary aim is to treat the patient, not the radiographs and MRIs. Pain relief is targeted to allow the patient to return to daily functions.
  • - Electrotherapy, hot and cold applications, and similar physical medicine methods are selected specifically for the patient through the collaboration of a Physical Therapy specialist and physiotherapists.
  • - Appropriate measures and features are determined for the use of preventive and supportive rehabilitation devices and technologies, and education is provided to the patient and family.
  • - Injection treatments are performed by algologists under imaging methods in operating room conditions (with general or local anesthesia) to reduce your pain and increase your functions.
  • - Injections are sometimes used not for treatment but for diagnostic purposes and play a guiding role in selecting the correct treatment.
